House. Dated 1639 above main door but with later
alterations. Dressed stone with ashlar quoins, slate roof.
2 storeys and basement, 2 bays. Gable ends with saddle
stones and small shaped kneelers. The southern pitch of the
main roof and the short south wing heightened at a later
date in brick contemporary with chimneys, the wing with cat-
slide roof with flat-topped tile hung dormer, Windows to
main front some iron casements survive, others in later wood
frames, of 3 and 2 lights. Stone lintels over. Semi-
circular ashlar porch with string and blocking course added
early C19. Rear entrance next to wing reached by a flight
of wooden steps; plain cottage door with stone lintel. A
feature in the vicinity of Allerton Hall.
