683-1/7/111 Cathedral School, excluding the
22/10/73 modern building to the south

GV II

House, now school. Late C18 to earlier core. Brick; hipped
Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys; 3-window range (centre now
blocked): 8/8 sashes with moulded sills under gauged brick
flat arches; moulded wood eaves. Similar fenestration to
ground floor. C19 range to right: 7 metal cross-windows (2
blocked) under segmental arches; storeyband; brick eaves; 5
narrow gable dormers with horizontal casements; 2 brick
stacks; wood bellcote. Late C19 gable wing to left:
half-glazed panelled door, to left, under moulded open
pediment hood. INTERIOR: C19 open-well staircase with stick
balusters. 1st floor: 4-panel doors; probable timber-framing.
Ground floor: exposed C17/C18 timber-frame with wattle infill;
C18 wall cupboard; C19 fire surround; 6-panel door.
