Barn. Mid C16 with C19 rebuilding. Timber-framed and
weatherboarded, peg-tiled roof. Front SW elevation: barn has
full length deep C20 lean-to on timber posts with corrugated
iron roof. Simple off-centre entry waggon-way to barn.
INTERIOR: 5 bays, both NW and SE ends rebuilt in primary
braces softwood. Original C16 work of uniform system, each bay
has 5 stout common studs below middle rail, above rail similar
but with nailed curved internal stud braces running from post
to central common stud. Halved and bridle butted scarf in wall
plate. Trusses have straight tie-beams, slender curved arched
braces, some chiselled numerals. Roof, clasped side purlin
form with `diminished' principal rafters, high shallow curved
wind braces to purlins with half bay collars, bird-mouth
jointed to purlins. No evidence of wattle grooves or holes
suggesting external lath and plastering originally.
