Former house with attached maltings, now offices. Early C18
with later C18 and C19/C20 alterations. Coursed squared
limestone, late C19 brick to left side, render to rear; Welsh
slate roof; late C19 brick left-end stack.
2 storeys, attic and cellar; 7-window range. First floor has
five 2-light stone mullion-and-transom windows to centre and
right with C20 single-pane glazing in flat beaded surrounds
which extend upwards as panels to eaves; two late C18 6/6-pane
sashes with crown glass in similar surrounds with mullions and
transoms cut out and with keyed lintels.
Ground floor has 4 stone mullion-and-transom windows similar
to first floor to centre and right; two windows to left with
early/mid C18 6/6-pane sashes in similar surrounds to first
floor left. Door with 6 flush panels with decorative fanlight
and flanking pilaster strips within flat unmoulded stone
surround to left; similar surround of former doorway, now
blocked, to right.
Plinth has two blocked openings to basement to left; moulded
string over ground floor; eaves gutter supported on 10 fine
wrought-iron brackets with twisted decoration, probably C18 or
early C19. Three C20 rooflights. Right side has covered pulley
and pairs of doors at first and second floor level, retains
some C18 fittings but with C20 alterations. Rear elevation and
rear wing have C20 timber windows. INTERIOR not inspected but
noted as having undergone C20 alterations.
