Former house now restaurant. C15, partly rebuilt C20. Rendered flint
rubble. Pantile roof. At right-angles to and away from street line.
2 storeys plus undercroft. One off-centre door with reeded pilasters
and decorated frieze. End and central C20 doors. Panelled door at
extreme right with simple reveal. Scissor-brace roof re-built in C20.
One heavy cambered tie at the south end with mortices for wall bracing.
Undercroft:- Brick ribs and webbing. 4 bays with central stone column
having moulded base and capital. Each bay has double-order diagonal ribs
and wall arches. Blocked entrance on east side. Lighting niches with
moulded brick-on-edge heads. The undercroft is scheduled as an Ancient
Monument.
