Pair of houses, both with shops to ground floor. Early C19 with
late C19 alterations. Red brick with painted stone dressings
and slate roofs with brick gable stacks, plus dentilled eaves
band. Each house has three storeys and a single bay. No 58 to
west has a C20 half-glazed door with small paned overlight, to
east and a glazing bar sash to west. Above there is a similar
window and above again, a similar smaller window. No 60 has a
late C19 shop front with central, recessed, glazed doors below a
plain overlight flanked by canted single pane windows, set in a
pilastered surround with moulded cornice to top. Above there is
a glazing bar sash and above again there is a similar, smaller
window. All openings have rusticated wedge lintels with
keystones. Included for group value only.
