House, late C18. Timber-framed and rendered with gabled plain
clay tile roof. 2 storeys with attic storey and 2-storey
gabled rear extension with stair tower all in black
weatherboarding. Lean-to Welsh slate roofed dormer with
2-light casements with cross glazing pattern, set on front
wall plate. First floor has flush double-hung sash window with
2 vertical glazing bars. Painted timber fascia board at
first-floor level. Ground floor has a flush double-hung sash
window with 2 vertical glazing bars and C20 door with
rectangular fanlight over.
INTERIOR: some framing exposed and, on first floor, an
internal straight wall brace on front wall. Adjoining this,
the SE flank has wall studs of c1600 with former window
opening with 2 small rectangular mullion mortices. Staircase
at rear of tight winder form with Chinese Chippendale handrail
(part renewed) and continuous curved soffit. Some stonework in
cellar particularly flanks with No.16 (qv).
