II
House. 1668, early C19 front. Render over Pennant rubble,
gable-end brick stacks to front and rear cross wing, pantile
and slate roof. L-shaped plan with through passage to the
cross wing and outshut behind. 2 storeys and attic; 3-window
range. The garden front has 2-light casements to the ground
floor, 4/4-pane sashes in flush boxes on the first, with a
symmetrically-placed Greek Revival plain wooden porch and
6-panel door; 2 flat-topped dormers. C19 extension on the left
has a parapet, returning with gable-end stack to the ground,
pierced by a 2-light sliding sash; attic dormer above the rear
catslide. Right-hand rear elevation extended back under a
parapeted valley, a 2-window range with 3/3-pane sashes to the
left and 6/6 sashes on the right, with thick glazing bars on
the ground floor. Single-window range in cross wing, with a
plain, 4-light mullion and transom window on the ground floor,
containing iron-framed casements, under a brick relieving
arch, replaced by coupled 6/6-pane sashes on the first floor.
Door to single-storey rear extension butted against house.
INTERIOR: panelled shutters on all front windows, many
original doors, and lantern to top floor.
