Set of 8 garden urns and accompanying steps in sunken garden to west of Radbourne Hall

Set of eight garden urns and accompanying steps. Late C18.
Coade stone and sandstone. Two flights of sandstone steps to
centre of east and west sides of sunken garden. To the base of
each flight is a pair of garden urns. Each urn has a square
plinth with laurel leaf circles to each side, and above it is
thistle shaped urn with a moulded base. The bottom of each urn
is fluted with pairs of grotesque heads to north and south
sides. The necks are decorated with vines in relief. To each
corner of the garden are four more urns, each on deep square
plinths and with square bases. All are shaped like a wide
shallow bowl with a wide lip and each has a grotesque head to
north and south. Included for group value only.
