Roundhill Farmhouse and
attached Farmbuildings

GV II

Farmhouse and attached farmbuildings. 1773 with early C19 alterations
and additions. Coursed stone with ashlar dressings and stone and
Welsh slate hipped roofs. Quoins. A single white brick stack.
Farmhouse, south front has off-centre doorway with ashlar surround,
flanked by single, former 3-light flush mullion windows and to the
left a further doorway with ashlar surround and beyond an inserted
door. Above 3, former glazing bar sashes in flush ashlar surrounds.
To the rear 3 ground floor windows, an off-centre stair window and 2
upper windows. Attached barn to west, under the same roof, has a
single cart entrance with segment head, the keystone'inscribed 1773.
To the rear a doorway and above a loft opening. Attached to the west
3 single storey ranges, around a courtyard, with various doorways and
windows. The outer facades have to the north 2 doorways, to the west
4 windows and to the south 2 windows. To the south of the farmhouse
and linked by a wall is a further farmbuilding. 2 storey with stone
slate hipped roof and quoins. South facade has a cart entrance and
a loft opening above. East front has 3 upper loft openings. West
facade has an off-centre doorway with flat hood supported by a
bracketed pilaster to left and to right an external stone staircase,
leading to 2 loft doorways. Interior of farmhouse contains a single
ashlar fireplace with bracketed surround.
