stone coping, brick stack to left gable end, and a truncated
one to the right. PLAN: double-depth plan with 2 rear
extensions.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic; symmetrical 5-window range.
The coping to the gables continues along the parapet; the
moulded cornice is returned to the sides and steps forward
over the banded pilasters. A small gabled roof dormer has a
2-light casement window. C20 horned plate-glass sashes in
moulded architraves; that above the door is Venetian-style
with Tuscan pilasters. The 8-panel door has raised-and-fielded
panels and a brass knocker, it is set back in a Tuscan-style
doorcase with a pediment. A heraldic panel above the door has
the motto "Keep Faith". The first-floor of the rear has
6/6-pane sashes; a lean-to extension connects two mid C19
gabled extensions, that to the right first-floor has large
8/8-pane sashes, the gable end has a window and door with
moulded architraves.
INTERIOR: central stair-hall with an open-string, open-well
staircase; turned oak balusters, wreathed rail and curtail

early C18 fire-surround to the left, with egg-and-dart
moulding to the lintel and jambs, and containing a mid C19
cast-iron register grate; the recess below the Venetian window
has raised-and-fielded panelling. The room to the right has a
stone fire-surround with a moulded mantle-shelf, and a wall
cupboard to the right with 4 raised-and-fielded panels and H
hinges. One door is 6-panel with small panels to the centre.
One of a group of 3 early C18 town houses in Church Street.
