Houses. C16 to C17 with later alterations. Stucco; C20 tongue
and groove vertical weather boarding, to timber-frame; twin
gabled roof with plain tiles and Welsh slate; brick stack to
rear and to right side. 2-unit plan.
3-storeys and cellar; 2-window range: late C18, 3/3 sashes,
under jetty with boarded consoles and soffits; C20, 3/3 sashes
in gables; ornamented bargeboards. Stucco to ground floor,
with entrance centre left: C19, 4-panel door with moulded
architrave, flanked by 10/10 sashes in moulded architraves;
passage way to rear, to far right, has plain doorcase with
cambered head; jetty overall, with stucco consoles.
Right elevation of rubble with brick quoins, flues and
superstructure; brick modillion eaves.
Left return: weather boarded, with 6/6 sash in moulded case to
1st floor; jetty; 4/4 sash in moulded case in gable.
Passage to rear displays timber-framing on left: corbelled
rubble on right; brick arches; exposed ceiling beams; plank
door with fixed light, grilled overlight, and light with
sliding shutter.
Rear has 2-light casement under segtmental arch, with 2-light
metal casement over. Further range to rear (No.10): C18.
3-storeys; 2-window range: 3-light casement and fixed light
with old leaded lights, under segmental arches; 3-light window
with central metal casement, over. Central 4-panel door under
segmental arch, flanked by fixed light (to left) and 3-light
window with central metal casement, both under segmental
arches. Stop chamfered ceiling beams and moulded plaster
ceiling, to ground floor. Further range (No.11) of roughcast
brick; 2-storeys; steps to C20 door; C19, 2-light casement to
right, both under cambered stucco lintels; modillion eaves.
Gable has 2 roughcast brick stacks, and various casements.
Ground floor of rubble with some timber-frame and brick;
stairs to upper floor, probably early C19. Shallow pitch slate
roof with stone coped gable parapet to rear range.
Timber-framing in gable of rear range suggests C18 raising and
extending of earlier wing (of No.9).
INTERIOR: boarded, probably massive ceiling beams, and exposed
joists.
