Raised cobbled surfaces: 1829-30; sloping between pavement and
road; approximately 1-2m wide. On west side commencing at
Broad Gate and extending northwards to centre of No.59. The
verges were created and subsequently cobbled as part of the
gradient improvement works carried out following the advice of
Thomas Telford in 1829.
