House, now flats. c1690, to earlier core. Roughcast; plain
tile roof with shallower pitch over projecting bay;
cross-axial ridge stack.
2-storeys and cellar; 5-window range: C20, 6/6 sashes, 2 in
projecting bay to right; scalloped rafter feet; small gable
with C20 timber-framing, bargeboards and pendant; to left,
enriched lead rainwater head, dated 1690. Entrance to left of
projecting bay: C20 panelled double doors, with earlier
overlight, in moulded wood pointed arch with quatrefoils in
spandrels; moulded wood architrave; to left, two C20, 6/6
sashes; to right, one 6/6, 1 C20, 8/8 sash. Narrow light to
right returned side.
INTERIOR: entrance hall has exposed timber post with enriched
pilaster. Jacobean open-well staircase with bobbin balusters,
mutilated at 1st floor level; exposed timbers.
Flat 2: moulded stone reveals in plaster; fireplace with
stop-moulded beam and splayed limestone reveals.
Flat 3: stone 4-centred arch; ashlar pier with chamfered
return.
Flat 1: chamfered head; exposed brace to wattle and daub wall.
Flat 6: chamfered ashlar fireplace and exposed post.
Cellar: contains some medieval stone work.
Remains in gardens: wall to south and west, wall to north.
C14. Rubble with dressed sandstone to blocked openings; wall
to north has some brick panels and superstructure; 2 wide
(blocked) openings with splayed reveals.
Wall to south: 2-storeys of stone arches, one with lintel of
probable grave slab?; south face retains splayed reveals;
south-west doorway with span arched head to east, and lower
span arched head and chamfered jambs to west side (exterior).
