Attached house. c1780. Render over rubble with limestone
dressings, party wall stacks and a C19 slate hipped roof.
Double-depth plan. Late Georgian style.
3 storeys, attic and basement; 3-window range. A symmetrical
front has banded pilaster strips to a moulded coping, and 2
full-height canted bays; a central timber doorcase has
attached Doric columns, entablature blocks with triglyphs,
open modillion pediment, semicircular-arched doorway with a
plate-glass fanlight and 6-panel door with the top 4 raised.
Timber bays have horned 8/8-pane ground-floor sashes,
plate-glass with margin panes above, and small central
semicircular-arched 6/6-pane sashes. Matching rear elevation.
INTERIOR: entrance hall divided by a semicircular arch with
fluted pilaster jambs and panelled soffit, to a rear open
dogleg stair with stick balusters and ramped, wreathed rail to
curtail; first-floor landing divided by a semicircular
panelled arch; front and back ground-floor rooms linked by a
wide doorway, those on the first floor by an elliptical arch
with 2-leaf 16-panel doors; eared fireplace surrounds,
panelled shutters, dados and 6-panel doors.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: attached wrought-iron basement area gates
and railings.
