Terrace of 9 houses. c1852. By Pope, Bindon and Clarke.
Limestone ashlar with brick party wall stacks, pantile roof.
Double-depth plan. Each of 3 storeys, attic and basement;
1-window range. A stepped, slightly concave terrace has a
rusticated basement to a band, upper pilasters on scrolled
corbels to a frieze with strapwork, overlapping cornices, and
attic storeys with cornice and parapet. Left-hand doorways
have elaborate consoles to raised jambs, plate-glass
overlights and 3-panel doors. Subsidiary pilasters to ground-
and first-floor windows, paired windows to the ground floor,
tripartite with cornices to the first floor, and tripartite
second-floor windows with architraves and shallow sill blocks;
2 attic windows have incised surrounds. 2/2-pane ground-floor
sashes with margin bars, 6/6-pane above, 3/6-panes to the
second floor. First-floor balconies on cast-iron brackets with
bowed cast-iron railings. INTERIOR not inspected.
