Warehouse, now public house and office. c1860. Pennant
rock-faced ashlar and squared rubble, red brick and limestone
dressings, roof not visible. Open plan.
3 storeys; 7-window range. Divided into 2 sections, the taller
No.15 to the right a 4-window range, full-width plat band,
cornice band and coped parapet.
No.15 has segmental-arched ground-floor windows with the
doorway second from the right with a C20 door; upper floor
divided by four 2-storey semicircular-arched recesses, with
alternate brick and limestone dressings, similar dressings to
segmental-arched first-floor and keyed semicircular-arched
second-floor windows, with chamfered reveals, and ashlar bands
above the first-floor windows.
No.14 to the left set forward between pilaster strips, with a
full-width segmental-arch across the ground floor supported by
2 cast-iron columns on 2 large granite blocks spanning the
central basement opening. Segmental-arched windows as No.15,
with piers between of banded Pennant and limestone ashlar, and
banded parapet. Metal-framed windows with margin panes and
casements. The rear elevation has a left-hand gabled 3-window
section with segmental-arched ground- and first-floor openings
and a central pully hoist, and parapeted lower right-hand
2-window section.
INTERIOR: cast-iron columns 7 bays deep to the ground floor,
with flanges to pillows and timber floor beams. Converted to
open-plan offices above.
