Oakfield Lodge
II
Lodge, now cottage. c1859. Stucco, limestone ashlar ridge
stack and double courses of alternate plain and fishscale
slates, hipped roof. Single-depth plan. Single storey;
1-window range. A wide, shallow gable with overhanging eaves
has a 4-light bow with plate-glass sashes; to the right is set
back an entrance porch with an open doorway to an inner C19
half-glazed door; a square sill band and a moulded impost band
run round the building. INTERIOR not inspected. The lodge to
Oakfield, built 1859 and demolished 1981, and one of the
oldest buildings in the area.
