Public House. Probably c1800 with alterations of 1830s.
Stuccoed brick; tile roof and stucco stacks. 2 storeys;
3-window range. Entablature over rusticated ground floor;
windows have wide architraves and 4-pane horned sashes;
entrance to left of 1st window has architrave and panelled
door; entry to right end has plank door; architraved panel to
1st floor has painting of canal boat; end stack and
cross-axial stack. Stone-coped brick wall and gate to left.
Rear has C20 extension. INTERIOR has some remaining features,
eg cornices. A good example of a canal-side public house
retaining adjacent brewhouse (q.v.).
