Shop with offices over, formerly house. Early to mid C19.
Rendered, slate roofs. In 2 parts; the older, 3-storey range
to the right, and later 2-storey, in the same plane, left. The
earlier range has 2 casements at second floor with margin-pane
glazing, above 3 at first floor in 1, 2 and 1 lights with
diamond panes in cast-iron. At ground floor a full-width C20
display window with door. A stack to the left gable. The lower
range has two 2-light casements with horizontal bars above a
full-width C20 shop-front with door, and a plain return to the
left. The main gable to the right (N) has a 2-light
margin-pane casement to the second floor, with another at
first floor plus a doorway at the head of an external
staircase; the ground floor has a C20 display window. The
building is in very shallow depth, and is backed against the
rising slope of Mars Hill. INTERIOR not inspected.
An early photograph in Loveless shows the ground floor in the
3-storey range with a single sash. The property was damaged in
the 1952 floods.
