Farmhouse with attached farm buildings. Late C17-early C18,
altered; farm buildings early C18 and mid C19. Limestone and
slate rubble, the house roughcast; graduated slate roof.
House: 2 storeys, 4 windows to 1st floor with short 1-storey
wing to rear right. Attached 2-storey and 1-storey farm
buildings to rear enclose rectangular yard. Farmhouse:
part-glazed door to left of centre has moulded stone hood and
shaped brackets; tall casement window to left and two 3-light
transomed casements to right. 1st floor: 3 tall casements and,
on right, a low 4-light window with central mullion.
Projecting end stack on left has slate tabling and conical
shaft; rebuilt ridge stack to right of centre. Farm buildings:
adjoining rear-left corner of house is an C18 bank barn having
double doors within blocked segmental arch; section to right
(rebuilt C19) has cow houses with alternate doors and windows;
haylofts over are entered from rear. Across north end of yard
a lower 2-storey building of C19 date has cow house beneath
loft. A short single-storey dairy wing encloses the yard; it
has 2 original doorways flanked by windows, hipped end to roof
and small ridge stack. INTERIOR: C18 section of barn has
principal-rafter trusses; later part has scissor-braced
trusses.
