GV II

House. Late C18 with C19 late alterations. Coursed squared
stone with ashlar plinth, quoins and dressings; roof of
graduated stone slates with stone gable copings and chimneys.
2 storeys; 3-window range. Step up to recessed C19 door of
3-over-3 panels with overlight in plain stone surround with
shallow hood. Ground floor has C19 windows. Canted bay at left
with 4-pane sashes, and bracketed cornice under flat roof;
wide 4-pane sash at right, the upper sash smaller, under flat
stone lintel. First floor has plain sashes in projecting
tooled stone surrounds. Roof has left gable coping on
cyma-moulded kneeler, and end chimneys, the left with plinth
and cornice, the right with top band continuous with chimney
of adjacent house, No.38 (qv). INTERIOR: not inspected.
