House now shops, offices and dental surgery. Early-mid C19 (post 1824).
Dressed sandstone facade, ashlar magnesian limestone on left return;
graduated slate roof. 2 storeys with 3 bays facing Market Place and 3 bays
on left return facing Castle Gate. Panelled double door and fanlight with
glazing bars in wooden doorcase with fluted ½-columns, triglyphs to frieze
and cornice. Flanking C20 shop windows have bowed casements with glazing
bars. 1st floor: projecting stone sills to plain sashes beneath flat arches;
paired wooden gutter brackets. Roof is hipped on left with 2 ashlar ridge
stacks at the eaves; right end stack shared with adjacent property. The
Three Legs (q.v.). Left return: altered ground-floor windows, the central
opening blocked; blind window to lst-floor right.
