Formerly private residence, now an hotel. Mid C18 with later alterations and
extensions. Red brick; stuccoed facade lined in imitation of ashlar,
rusticated stone quoins; roof slated to front, plaintiled to remainder. 2
storeys and attic. Original house with symmetrical 4 window range, 1:2:1, the
wings set forward slightly: French windows except first floor of wings which
have tripartite sash windows; all first floor openings with stucco surrounds.
Central paired doorways with glazed double doors; mid C19 porch, the full
width of the centre section: 2 square, tapering pilasters, one central column,
frieze, cornice, stone balustrade above, semi-circular headed side lights.
Wooden modillion eaves cornice (except centre recess); hipped roof to wings
with small dormer windows. One bay mid C19 extension to right hand side in
matching style. Left hand return front with 5 window range, sashes with
glazing bars in flush frames, flat brick arches.
