probably early C18. Large dressed stone to house, hammer-dressed
to cottage, stone slate roofs. 2 storeys. 2-cell gable-entry plan
double-depth with 2 gabled wings to rear. Three 1st-floor windows.
Plinth, cavetto-moulded string course. All, except one, are double-
chamfered mullioned-and-transomed windows. 1st cell has 6-light with
king-mullion with 6-light above. 2nd cell has 8-light with king-mullion
and 3-light fire-window with 4-light and small arched light above. Set
between the 2 cells at 1st floor is 4-light window. Coped gables with
kneelers and ridge stacks. Rear: Central bay has 2 double-chamfered
mullioned windows, one of 2 lights the other of 3 lights, set at different
levels to 1st floor and probably to light stair. Against ground floor
is later lean-to extension filling the gap between wings; which has
5-light window. Gabled wings have kneelers, coping and stacks. Right-
hand return has doorway with basket-arched lintel bearing date inscription
carved in high relief, composite jambs and moulded surround (cyma, step,
roll, step). To either side of lintel carved consoles decorated with
lunette and arrow head supporting dripmould. Altered windows in keeping;
one original window of 4 lights to 1st floor.
Interior: not inspected but appears to be largely altered mid-C20.
