2/69 Green Hill Manor

II

House. Initialled and dated " IM 1692 " (Murgatroyd family),
refronted late C19 or early C20 in Vernacular Revival Style when
entirely rebuilt having been moved from original site. Hammer-
dressed stone, dressed quoins, stone slate roof. 2 storeys. 3-cell
plan. Rear has C17 fenestration. All are double-chamfered mullioned
windows. 1st cell has 2-over-4-light stepped-window with 4-light mullioned-
and-transomed window above; doorway with eared architrave has dated
lintel with stressed keystone and cornice. 2nd cell has 4-light window
with 2 of 2 lights above. 3rd cell has 3-light window with cross-window
at mezzanine level to light stairs; doorway with tie-stone jambs and
chamfered surround; 4-light mullioned-and-transomed window with same
above. Coped gables with stacks and front-facing rainwater spouts.
Rebuilt front has 3 bays of double-chamfered mullioned-and-transomed
windows. Outer bays of 4 lights to each floor, central bay of 5 lights.
Set between each bay a doorway with shouldered architrave. 3rd bay
has gable with kneelers, coping and apex stone. Left-hand return has
C17 cross-window with 4-light window above. Right-hand return has
2-light window to each floor.
