Farmhouse. Mid C17 with C18-early C19 extension. C20 alterations to south front.
Coursed rubble limestone with dressed quoins, the C17 part of south front with
bands of dressed stone. Stone slate roofs; chimneys with paired or single square
ashlar shafts. C17 part is L-plan with gabled stair turret in rear angle, and is
of 2 storeys and an attic. Stone mullion windows with recessed hollow-chamfering
and Tudor hoodmoulds, the ground floor mostly with 4-light windows, the first
floor with 3-light windows. South front has 2 bays of fenestration, C20 single
light to ground floor centre, and C20 artificial stone mullion window to first
floor left over board door. Door has C17 double ovolo-moulded and stopped
surround. Flanking chimneys. Right gable end has C17 2-light stone mullion
windows to left of chimney, and C19 French doors with Gothick glazing to right.
Rear wing in same style, the east front with partly blocked first floor window
and gabled roof dormer. 2-light stone mullion windows to stair turret. C19
half-glazed door with flat stone slab hood on scroll brackets to rear of front
wing. C20 artificial stone window above. C18-early C19 2-bay extension to west
has old 3-light casements with flat stone arches to north front, and altered
south front with C20 artificial stone windows, C20 lean-to conservatory, and
gabled roof dormers. Interior has winder stair, heavy stop-chamfered spine
beams, and fireplace in rear wing with dressed stone jambs and altered lintel.
