Former farmhouse. Mid C17. Timber-framed, encased in mid C19 red brick;
thatched roof. 2 storeys; 2-cell end chimney plan. The end chimney-stack, on
the right, is set within the frame and has a small plain red brick shaft. 2
windows to each floor, C19 3-light mullion-and-transome type, with arched
heads to frames and surrounds. Plank door. The entrance door is in its
original position, and leads into the hall, which has an exposed ceiling with
widely-spaced joists and a small deep main beam, all chamfered and step-
stopped. The unheated room to the left of the entrance may have been divided
off by a plank screen: there is no sign of studding below the cross-beam. On
the upper floor, the remains of a studded partition dividing the area into 2
rooms. The rafters are concealed, and the roof-space inaccessible. Long
arched braces to the end wall.
