Farmhouse, now house. Late C16/early C17, incorporating C13 fragments. Coursed
limestone rubble, with old rendering to front; gabled stone slate roof; stone
ridge and end stacks finished in C19 brick. 3-unit plan with cross passage. 2
storeys; 3-window range. C19 four-panelled door with gabled timber porch.
Chamfered timber lintels over C19 three- and 4-light casements and over two C17
ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned windows to right of door . Rear: two large gabled
dormers, and similar C17 outshut; C17 two-storey rear right wing, of similar
materials, has C18 leaded casement window and C17 two-light square-cut
wood-mullioned window to left side and C17 two-light chamfered wood-mullioned
window and 3-light ovolo-moulded wood-mullioned window to right side. Interior
not inspected but likely to be of interest: noted as having stop-chamfered beams
and timber-framed partitions to cross passage. Subsidiary features: stone steps
reach C18 outbuilding of similar materials; to rear left stone steps to C19
plank door, C19 casement to left and C13 reset pointed chamfered lancets to
front and rear; C18 brick-lined doveholes in right gable; 3-bay late C18
collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
