10/84 The Rectory
GV II
Rectory. Core probably C17; much altered and extended,
especially in mid C19. The earlier work forms a single range
built in 2 stages: timber framed, part plastered, part brick
cased, plaintiled roof; 2 storeys with attic to front wing;
various casement windows, including 2 pointed arch casements
facing the churchyard. Mid C19 brick facade to The Street with
mid C19 extension to right hand side: twin gables, with a canted
ground floor bay to the left and a 2 storey square bay to the
right. Doorway to rear, with 4-centre arched boarded and
battened door. The front wings have flues with circular shafts
on octagonal bases. -
