Three, now two, houses. No.3 to right. Late C15 hall house, remodelled in C17.
Cruck-framed. Coursed limestone rubble; gabled thatch roof; brick left end and
ridge stacks. 3-unit plan. One storey and attic; 3-window range. Timber lintels
over C20 door and windows and C17 two-light wood-mullioned window; C17 chamfered
stone stair-light to left. Bay to right added in 1985. Interior: 2 full crucks
with collars, saddled apexes, trenched through-purlins and some curved wind
braces. Chamfered C17 beam to inserted floor, and chamfered bressumer over C17
open fireplace adjoining winder stairs. C15 timbers are of quite narrow
scantling, one being waney-edged. Nos.1/2 to left: C17, remodelled in early/mid
C19. Coursed limestone rubble with gabled thatch and Welsh slate roof and brick
end stacks. 2-storey, 2-window range with timber lintels over C19 and C20
three-light casements. 1980s extension to left. Interior not inspected but
likely to be of interest.
