TL 97 SW TROSTON IXWORTH ROAD
3/58 Boundary wall to Farmyard
- between Troston Hall and
Hall Farmhouse.
- II
A long stretch of boundary wall to the west of the yard and buildings of Hall
Farm. Mid C19. Red brick, and some rubble flint. The wall is very high, with
a dentil cornice and brick coping, and incorporates at the north and south
ends, and in the centre, the crow-stepped gables of 3 farm buildings. The
central building has been removed, the 2 remaining are of C19 red brick. Each
of the crow-stepped gables is of a slightly different form: that at the north
end is surmounted by a stone pineapple. At the south end a short section of
wall steps forward, and is partly faced in rubble flint. Diamond-shaped
ventilation holes are spaced at intervals along the wall.
