3/17 Loggia and Garden Wall to
the north-west of Easton
Grey House

Loggia and Garden Wall. Late C18 loggia resited in late C18 former
kitchen garden wall probably in c1880 when the garden was
formalised. Limestone to loggia, brick with stone coping to wall.
Loggia comprising 2 pilasters and 2 Roman Doric columns supporting
a plain frieze and triangular pediment; addorsed scrolls set in
pediment. Wall extends the length of north side of formal garden.
To each side of the loggia it has round-headed niches and above the
pediment apex the coping rises to a stepped feature with side
scrolls. To the left-hand it has a C20 canted summerhouse of brick
with round-headed windows.
Interior. Semi-circular interior space to loggia with stone statue
on a plinth of a Roman goddess.
