Group of 10 chest tombs, all limestone and late C18-early C19. Set
in four rows east row from north:
a) Corniced table and moulded base. Corner pilasters with caps,
and central floral motif dividing raised panels. To Martha
Lye, died 1823.
b) Hipped table. Corner pilasters with drapes and reeded fascia.
Oval side panels with putti in top corners. Illegible.
Second row:
c) Tall, with moulded table and base on step. Recessed corner
balusters. Draped urn panel dividing outlined panels. To
Martha Bartar(?) died aged 107, and others.
d) Tall, with corniced table and moulded base. Recessed corner
balusters. Oval panel with putti, and flanking fruit and
flower carved panels. To Thomas Warks(?) died 1811.
e) Moulded table and base. Fluted corner balusters. Central
draped urn in mezzo-relief dividing raised panels with reeded
tops. To Harry Hooper, died 1848, Elizabeth his wife, 1811,
Elizabeth Lawes, died 1860. Cushioned panel with putti holding
drapes and urns on south face .
Third row, from north:
f) Corniced table. Panelled and centre pilasters dividing raised
shields. Illegible.
g) Cyma table and moulded base. Two beaded panels on sides
Illegible.
Fourth row:
h) Hipped table and moulded base on plinth. Floral corner
pilasters. Central oval panel with putti and draped urns
flanking panels. Reeded fascia. Illegible.
j) Cavetto table, the base buried. Two panels at side, one at
end. Illegible.
k) Hipped table and moulded base on platform. Recessed corner
balusters and fluted fascia. Central panel with reeded
corners, and flanking urn panels. To Sarah Garrett, died 1829.
