MANCHESTER

SJ8498SE BACK PICCADILLY
698-1/29/15 (East side)
Nos.69 TO 75 (Odd)

GV II

Row of garret-workshop cottages, now part workshop and part
unoccupied. Later C18 and early C19; altered. Painted brick,
slate roof. Double-depth plan. Three storeys, now a 2+3+2
window range (formerly 2+2+2), No.75 at right-hand end later
and taller than the others. Nos.69-73 have square-headed
windows at ground floor (those to left boarded at time of
survey), segmental-headed sashed windows at 1st floor (plus an
inserted window to the right), and four 3-light garret windows
above; a square-headed doorway at the left end, another next
to the junction with No.75 (widened). No.75 has tall coupled
round-headed doorways, that on the right with 3 steps up to a
panelled door and the other presumably opening to a
through-lobby; 2 segmental-headed windows with altered glazing
at 1st floor, and rebuilt 2nd floor with 2 sashed windows.
Rear: multiple-light garret windows visible, others apparently
blocked. Interior not inspected. Included as rare survival of
industrial housing.
