House. Early C19. Painted roughcast probably over limestone
rubble; slate roof, stepped stone coping to brick stack to
right gable end; ridge stack to inside at left range.
Double-depth plan, with 3-window range to right, constitute a
symmetrical central-staircase house.
2 storeys, 4-window range. 6-panel door between canted bays
with margin pane glazing and 8/8-pane sashes to first-floor.
The left bay has a 6/6-pane sash to ground floor and an
enlarged early C20 three-light casement above.
INTERIOR: close open-well open-storey staircase with swept
pine handrail and stick balusters; late C19 four-panel doors.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: spearheaded railings and working gate;
low brick wall with rounded brick capping to front, high
rubblestone wall to rear left return with gate, attached to
small chapel in the garden.
CHAPEL: early C19, windows enlarged late C19 with 2/2-pane
sashes with margin panes and pointed arch window to south end.
INTERIOR is entirely lined with horizontal tongued-and-grooved
boarding. Used now as games room and garage, with C20 garage
door to left.
