GV II
Two houses, now 3 shops. Early C19. Stucco, probably on
limestone rubble; slate roof; brick stacks to gable ends.
Double-depth plan.
2 storeys, 4-window range. Moulded C19 wood cornice above
projecting shopfronts. No.19 has C20 door to right with C19
overlight and reeded panel reveals; C20 bow window. No.19A has
C20 door to left with C19 overlight and reeded panel reveals,
2 panels deep. C20 shop window. No.19B has C20 door to left
with blocked overlight, reeded doorcase and panelled reveals.
Probably original bow window with original glazing bars. First
floor has four 8/8-pane sashes with much original glass.
Ground floors altered; shop fronts appear to be additions. All
3 shops have extensive 2-storey workshop ranges to rear. The
left shop, No.19, has the whole upper floor of 3 shops (with
attics) and the workshop range. To the ground floor of that
range is one window set between moulded stone jambs, probably
C17.
INTERIOR: most of the few remaining interior features are
early C19 including an elliptical arch on the landing.
