GV II

House, now flats. c1770, with mid C19 rear wing. Brick; tile
roof with brick end stacks. Central-staircase plan with 2 rear
wings. 3 storeys; symmetrical 3-window range. Brick cornice.
Central entrance has doorcase with reeded pilasters, triglyph
entablature blocks and open pediment; 6-fielded-panelled door
in similar reveals and fanlight with decorative glazing bars.
Windows have rubbed brick flat arches over sashes, most of 16
panes but 12-pane sash to central 1st floor window; 2nd floor
has 8-pane sashes flanking 6-pane sash. Varied fenestration to
returns; left return has one window of paired round-headed
8-pane sashes to ground floor; right return shorter, with
segmental-headed windows; rear single-storey outhouse range.
INTERIOR: dog-leg stair with stick balusters and wreathed
handrail.
