House. Late C19. brick; timber-frame and plaster; partly tile
hung; plain tile roof; 2 spurred brick stacks with dentilled
caps; 2 reduced stacks. 2 storeys, attic and cellar;
single-window range: 3-light stone mullion under brick pointed
arch with hood moulding; scalloped barges. Central entrance
with plank door, under simple verandah and porch with turned
balusters; to right, brick bay-window with ashlar detailing
and central cross-window flanked by plain lights. Right
returned side: later timber-framed bay, with leaded light,
jettied on wood brackets; scalloped barge-boards.
Timber-framed outshut to rear. Home of Sir Alfred Watkins,
photographer, inventor and antiquarian.
