Wood House Farmhouse

Farmhouse. Probably mid C18; altered. Pebble-dashed render on
brick, stone slate roof. Double-depth double-fronted plan with
projecting porch. Two storeys and attics, 1:1:1 windows,
symmetrical; with a full-height 2-storey porch which has a
round-headed doorway with open-pedimented architrave and
fanlight with V-glazing bars, a tall 12-pane top-hung casement
at 1st floor, and a shallow hipped roof; and two windows on
each floor, all with thin sills and rectangular lintels, and
all now 16-pane top-hung casements. Side-wall chimneys on the
front slope, that to the right extruded. Left gable wall has
small gabled porch with round-headed arch, one window on each
floor to the rear of this, and a pair of small attic windows.
INTERIOR: C17 chamfered beam in rear left room; C19 staircase
with stick balusters. Forms group with barn approx. 15m south
(q.v.).
