School. Schoolroom 1826, by W M Fowler. Cross wing 1838. Bell
tower dated 1877. Stucco and painted brick, with stone
dressings, gabled and hipped slate roofs and 2 side wall
stacks. Plinth and rebated eaves. Pilastered single storey
schoolroom, 6 bays, has a pedimented gable end-on to the
street, with two 15 pane sashes. Left side has five 15 pane
sashes arranged 3:2. Right side has to left a single storey
hipped porch with 2 small windows in each side and a 4-panel
door to its left. To its right, four 15 pane sashes and
another door. 2 storey cross wing at far end has 4 segment
headed 12 pane sashes on each floor. Each end has 2 first
floor blanks, those to left with iron grilles. Left end has
blocked door. In the rear return angle, square bell tower,
brick with stone dressings and pyramidal slate roof. 3 stages.
Second stage has round headed window with keystone, and date
stone. Second stage has segment headed paired bell openings on
each side.
