Terrace of 7 houses. c.1845. Buff stock brick set in Flemish
bond; Welsh and artificial slate gabled roofs, brick ridge
stacks. Crescent-shaped plan. Two storeys with basement and
attic; 2 windows each. Basement has rendered flat brick arches
over 8/8 sashes and some late C19 2/2 sashes. Steps rise to
round-arched doorway, which has mid C19 4-panelled door set in
wood architrave with pilaster jambs (except No. 18).
Round-arched brick arches over ground-floor sashes with
glazing bars. 1st floor with gauged-brick flat arches to 8/8
sashes and some late C19 horned 2/2 sashes. Raised stucco
storey band and dentilled brick cornice. Roof dormers with 3/3
sashes and casements. Wrought-iron railings enclose courts to
front. Sashes with glazing bars to rear. INTERIOR: of No. 21
has dog-leg stairs with winders. Other interiors not
inspected. History: recorded as first occupied in 1846.
