Semi-detached houses. 1856-61. Developed by Henry Rydon and
probably designed by Charles Hambridge. Yellow brick set in
Flemish bond, stucco, roof of Welsh slate. Four storeys over
basement, two windows each. Basement and ground floor
stuccoed; steps up to flat-arched entrance in two-storey
recessed entrance wing, the entrance with cornice, overlight
and panelled door of original design, and flanked by pilasters
carrying entablature; ground-floor windows flat-arched with
panelled pilasters; first-floor windows have moulded stucco
architraves, panelled aprons and consoles carrying scrolled
pediments; sill band to second-floor windows which are
flat-arched with moulded reveals; stucco frieze interrupted by
windows; eaves cornice; boxed eaves; hipped roofs with dormers
to both houses; stacks to party wall and side stacks. No 63B
is a linked wing with basement and ground floor, the ground
floor having a broad flat-arched window flanked by two
narrower ones between panelled pilasters, entablature and
balustraded cornice. Two pairs of stuccoed panelled gate piers
with cornices and balustraded wall between, the balustrade
missing to no 61.
