Workshop or warehouse. c.1875. Yellow brick set in Flemish
bond, stone, roof obscured by parapet. Five storeys,
two-window range. Ground floor has rendered late C20 shop
front. The upper storeys read as two bays between brick piers
which run up to the cornice; at first-floor level there are
tripartite windows with stone mullions; the middle part has a
segmental arch with triangular incisions in its profile; the
outer parts have a form of shouldered arch. On the second,
third and fourth floors, the windows run the full width
between the piers and are divided by two mullions, presumably
of stone, to each; there are panels of geometrical ornament
below them, and the form of the mullions and panels on the
second and third floors, where the windows are flat-arched,
seems to make reference to the metalwork of which the building
is presumably constructed; fourth-floor windows have cambered
arches with triangular incisions; stepped brick cornice.
