Shops and flats, original purpose probably broadly similar.
Late C15, much altered C18, C19 and late C20. Partly
timber-framed and brick. Pantiled roof. No.99: two-storey
facade of rendered and colourwashed brick and pantile roof.
C20 full-length glazed shopfront. 2 horned C19 sashes to first
floor. Gabled roof with stack on rear slope. Between 2
properties is a passageway entered under a round arch. Inside
is a rebated and chamfered stone pointed arch. 2 large
bridging beams penetrate passage from houses either side,
continuing on their way. In west side is a blocked window with
an iron cullis. Rear has timber studs exposed in wall above
passage. Gabled 2-storey cross wing to rear with 3 lights of a
repaired mullioned window remaining to ground floor.
No.100: three-storey facade in 2 bays. Whitewashed brick. C20
showroom fascia below late C19 sashes to floors above.
Saw-toothed eaves cornice and gabled roof. Large 2-storey
outshut addition to rear under slate roof. INTERIORS. Large
bridging beams to ground-floor front. Upper floors with timber
studwork.
