KING'S LYNN

TF6119NE NELSON STREET
610-1/9/150 (East side)
07/06/72 Garden walls to S and E of No.30
(Ladybridge House)
(Formerly Listed as:
NELSON STREET
Garden wall at No.30)

GV II

Garden Walls. Curving section to Nelson Street dated 1818.
Brick with coping tiles. Mostly in a variation of English
garden wall bond. Wall returns to north at east end, but is
here rebuilt 1987-88 following collapse in October 1987 gale.
This length returns west to house at its north end and
incorporates a piece of C16 brick walling. This has a pointed
arched stone doorway, blocked, and a square-headed window with
a timber lintel. Abutting house are stone quoins, all this
belonging to an otherwise demolished building occupying the
site. The main garden wall is visually important in the street
scene.
