House, now shops. Mid to late C16 with later alterations.
Brick with timber-framed facade; double-span tile roof with
brick stacks. Double-depth plan. Elizabethan style. 2 storeys;
3-window range. Stuccoed ground floor underbuilding; top
frieze on 2 brackets, probably originally with gabled attic
above. Central shop window of 8 panes with ventilation grille
above, flanking entrances and end entrance with blind
overlight; smaller window to left end. 1st floor has 4/8-pane
sashes in moulded frames. Stack to left end. Timber framing
has shaped herring bone bracing, some panels with thin
muntins, possibly originally glazed; quatrefoils to frieze.
Rear range has steep roof and lower gabled cross wing to
right; varied fenestration, mostly casements. INTERIOR:
chamfered beams; left end has open-well staircase with stick
balusters and turned newels.
