House with attached dairy. Late C17/early C18. Rubblestone,
stone slate roof with saddleback coped verges, kneelers and
finials. 2 storeys and attic, 3 windows. Central studded door
has moulded architrave and continuous drip mould over lintel.
Windows are 3-light cyma moulded mullions to either side and same
on first floor with one 2-light above door. Two Cotswold-type
attic gables each have one 2-light cyma moulded mullion with drip
moulds. Gable to left return has bull's eye window to top right.
Attached to left is single storey dairy with stone slate roof and
flat coped verge and stone stack: one 3-light cyma moulded
mullion. Rear is similar but no attic gables and rear door is to
left in dairy, with drip mould over.
Interior: Room to left of front door has fine moulded 4-centred
arched fireplace with moulded cornice and stops; bread oven to
right of fireplace and spice cupboard in rear wall. Central
stairs. House said to have been built c1750 by de Slade family
who were weavers in the area.
