Probably the residence originally of the iron-master who worked Furnace Mill
and the hammer mill to the south of them. The original portion is a C16 timber-framed
building, refaced with stone and red brick on ground floor and tile-hung above.
Tiled roof with pentice behind. Casement windows. Two storeys. Four windows.
Stone addition of 2 window-bays made to the right in 1738.
