Row of four cottages. Late C19 rebuilding of earlier range,
possibly C17. Coursed rubble stone, pantiled roof with brick
stacks. Single-storey and attic, 4-window. Entrance to No 56 on
left return in gabled porch, 2-light C19 casements to ground and
first floors, evidence of earlier roofline. Road front has three
C20 doors, one blind doorway and four margin-pane plate glass
sashes, all in raised architraves with ogee-shaped tops. Three
raking dormers with 2-light casements to roof, right hand with
margin-pane glazing. Included primarily for group value and for
important position on edge of Ham Green.
